"Chipping is a small enough swing that the wrist don't really get involved and there's little to no weight transfer. Whereas in the pitch, there is a bit of weight movement and a little bit of wrist hinge".
Gary Alliss, Golf Monthly Top 25 Coach, goes on to explain that you can chip with just about any club in your bag, suggesting either the odd or the even numbered clubs and stick with one or the other. Chipping is like a putting motion with little body movement. Use the goal of getting "Up and Down" in 2 strokes and keep track of your chips and putts.
